A wonderful , strange weekend*
How does a girl survive the death of mother, then a father, then a cousin and an uncle.
She did.
She triumphed.
Against all odds, against all fears, she continued to survive and blossom in life.
This is a girl who survived constant hardships. *
Her mum gave up her life when she gave birth to Lexy. Her first day in college was spent in a funeral service for her cousin and uncle. The first week during her first mission trip, she gets a call telling her she has lost her dad forever. How can one take that in and still continue to live positively? She did.
Just one of the stories that has been personally shared to me this weekend, one word: amazing.
This weekend has been intense, intense and crazy....spiritually inspiring and emotionally taxing.
We saw the brown Buick heading our way. He did not even try to brake and instead plowed straight into us. Thank GOD we were driving an SUV, a 2003 Honda CRV or Krishan might have been seriously hurt. Our SUV wasn't too badly dented but the Buick's entire front end was totalled. We were a worried about Darren because he totally did not fasten his seat belt. Thankfully, no broken bones.
I am impressed with the Waco Police Department's cool efficiency. Within 30 seconds, a fire truck and an ambulance had arrived and we had paramedics asking us whether we were okay. Within 30 minutes, both our cars were done towed, insurance settled and traffic ticket issued.
There just happened to be a cop car behind us when we got T-boned by the Buick? I think not....it was something more than that.*way more than that.
I need a break just to get my breath back:P
How can one live with your wife and 3 kids in Palestine? How can one live with snipers shooting through your bedroom windows and explosions througout the night keeping your kids awake? When your wife has to plead for your life while you stare down the barrel of an Israeli M16A2 rifle, doesn't that mean you run for your life and don't stop?
No, this guy, C.M. chose to stick with the Palestinian people right till the end. With his family. Even after being told to evacuate by the American Embassy? Who is this guy? A crazed superhero? No, just some one trusting GOD and never looking back...
Another random story? I don't think so, not with these being told to me by the actual people, Lexy and Chris. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things? I think, very much so:)
So, who's up for making a change in this world, not withstanding the circumstances or hardships?
P.S> Tom Brady.....dont' win. Please.......lol, if u know what i'm talking about, message me:)

5 Little Things that Make (or Break!) TCU:)
Frog Bytes
A Strangely small but well stocked mini mart* *i wish they had shampoo!
The Main
Our tragically mediocre cafeteria. Once in a while, it blesses us with delicious food:)
Deco Deli
Sumptuous sandwiches available here. Horrendous lines during rush hour:P
Pond Street
Wonderful, sizzling steaks await your feasting; well steaks that await about 20 minutes from the main campus and $10 overpriced:P
Edens
Good attempt at serving wok. Far from authentic;)
*lol, i guess so far each description has been listed with a compliment and a complain. Oh well, that just makes me human doesn't it;)
Sub-Connection
If humongously hungry, this is the place for u:D...try the foot-long meat-ball sandwich, HUGE!
Sadler Hall
If you need to do anything remotely about school official stuff, my bet is you will find it here.
With wonderfully friendly, efficient staff, you will be out of here in no time! (see, i give positive comments too!:)
**tip: try the more senior staff: they are way more friendly than the student workers, sad to say;) (what happen to the adage of the grumpy old woman and the perky young worker?:)
the Student Center
ID Card, ISS, Religious Services, Bus and Six-flag tics, you will find all these easily and get ur stuff done fast:) keep up the good work TCU~
Library
The Lobby is actually a perfect picture of social networking, not studying:P
Wonderfuly inner lobby with sofas(used mostly for sleeping) and piped in classical music** how cool is that! lol..its actually distracting sometimes...uh.....
The illusive, mysterious BAsement is where we get our work done:) (exactly like the cliche: its so quiet that if you drop a pin...it sounds like a BOmb!, well until someone noisily walks by or slams the door: our heavy, fire proof doors close loudly:)
*well, you ask why the obsession with fire-proofing? TCU was burnt down in the late 30s, completely. Some say by students from our arch-rival SMU! GRRrr! jk:P...but yeah, we are fire phobic!:P
Moudy Building
Beautifully, aesthetically built by a world-famous, brilliant architect* but beyond these walls, art students work like slaves..trust me i know:)
Winston-Scott & Sir Richardson
So complex and full of mazes that one could be lost in there for a lifetime! seriously, i got hopelessly lost for 10 minutes just trying to get OUT.....crazy....never believed in the dangers of mazes until i entered that building;)
And it is TWO buildings!...u see Sir richardson was already confusing with it's split level floors and weird placement of staircases...but joining it two winston-scott just adds to the confusion with super long corridors that lead nowhere or somewhere obscure:P
Seriously, you don't want to get lost in this building...and....its creepy too at night....One night, after watching a lovely, thought-provoking french movie, the gang spotted a creepy man just staring out of a door...just staring!....beware.....of sir richardson....;)

Purpose....Direction:)

When you were growing up, you may have discovered that you were passionately interested in some subjects and hobbies that no one else in your family caree about...;)
There is a reason that you luv to do these things. :D
Seriously:D Ok, for my side would be tinkering with weird mechanical stuff like repairing the alarm clock, electronics and high-fi's (even opening up a vaccumm cleaner to extract its powerful magnet:P) , 3D design and other multiple variable interests:)
Now, they ( the interests) have evolved to become wierdly strange:P :soccer, music (composing, tracking, acoustics), game design, human sociology, art/design/photography, and surprisingly, literature and creative/modern writing (like this blog!)
hehe....a little of ma' photography....^:comment yah guys***:) esp my!

This is our belief in our LORD:)
"I believe there is a God who loves us. The full extent of His love is beyond our comprehension. While it is the basis for human love, God's love blows away any love that people can give. God desires each of us to experience His love for us.
I believe that every person that has ever lived, including myself, thinks and behaves in a way hostile to God and this hostility separates us from Him. Such separation is seen in the brokenness we all experience - in our relationships and in ourselves. Even humanity's best efforts cannot overcome this reality and the death that results from it.
I believe that God, because of His love for us, sent His Son to earth. This man, Jesus Christ, entered history and lived a perfect, guiltless life among us. Though He didn't deserve it, He suffered and died on a cross, offering Himself as a substitute for us by dying the death we deserved. And He rose back to life, defeating death and making it possible for humanity to be reconciled back to God.
I believe that Jesus, in His life, death and resurrection, is God's loving plan to overcome the separation between us and Him. He has given more than enouogh evidence for Himself, yet He respects us enough not to force anyone to come to Him. It's up to us whether or not we accept this gift of reconciliation through Jesus.
I believe that putting our trust in Jesus is the only way to restore our relationship with God and to know His love. In Him we have hope not only for the future but for the present, too. This is the life we were meant to live."
Do u agree:)?
:)...let's discuss huh:)

xiying!..i knowlah....sori ah:)...suppose to post this last nite:P but the bed was so inviting**ah
ah, yes the past few months i've been incommunido:P
i know..i know...my fault....aargh:D
heres the story, the gist: my externals loh, called the SAT, (why would anyone call an exam sat?...cause u sit during the exam:P)
if i do really well for this university exam then i get to enroll in places like MIT, Harvard, Princeton and Yale,
if i dont then its like Pittsburgh University or Brandeis or some smaller college:P
thanks guys for not like forgetting about my blog:P..while i'm away....hehe
hmm, the past few days< we had an all nite prayer meet in church**
as a usual teenager(last year to be one!), i do treasure my sleep lor>>was touched though by a tesitmony of a missionary to a Papua New guinea,
in a place like KL where luxury is commonplace, i guessit sort of stirred something within me, an emotion, a will to actually do something, now that i've successfully lived independantly and its actually possible to do something:
it was a beautiful nite*...i cycled and the sky was bright pink:)...brigth pink at 9.30pm adryn!....full moon, everything, traffic was good:
at church, the PA team did everything superbly, each room had a theme whether youth, persecuted church or just being with JESUS>..
there was actually a path in which all members followed like u move from one place to one place in a single row, there were like prayer items, newspaper cuttings and such. did u know that teenage pregnancies are higher among christians rather than nonchristians>>>>ah, what are we doing,,,
was really brought by the Spirit to stay long at the persecuted church...i hope its not that i just like being passionate about sacrifice and something. But i mean we all know how it feels like to be pushed aside and suppressed..**......just magnify it a 1000 times and we can barely grasp what believers feel in Iran, North Korea, China and even indon(..
its good though that there are ppl out there caring for the persecuted Church...aiming radio transmitters with the Gospel at them, praying for them, smuggling Bibles in, visiting them and generally taking risks cos they want to be there for them*
ahaks, wow...i can preach a sermon:)....nolah..kidding, otherwise i'm now back in kuching for like 9 days....a break i know...ive become a workaholic*****ahaks...how do u guys handle that?
im on hols but all it think of is study:P...walaueh..
thanks xiying once again for leading worship this fri***voluntarily with no push from me;)
thank you adryn for your lovely blog and in remembering us:)...we remember u !
man(and women!) is at his greatest when on his knees, worshiping the LORD:)
agape guys,
jhsien
